Tamiya Plastic Model Kit
German Field Kitchen (1/35) 35247
This 1/35 scale kit from Tamiya recreates the German Wehrmacht’s Grobe Feldküche Hf.13 field kitchen and its accompanying Vorderwagen Hf.11 limber, a vital part of keeping troops fed on the battlefield. True to the Wehrmacht’s tradition, soldiers and officers alike ate the same meals, typically hearty stews made from bread, sausage, pork, and potatoes, with hot coffee often served alongside.
The Hf.13 featured a central 200-litre double-bottomed pot with a glycerin layer to prevent burning, a 90-litre coffee maker with tap, and a separate range for cooking potatoes and sausages. The rear of the unit housed the fire doors for stoking coal or wood. The Vorderwagen limber carried the cooking crew, food storage, and “Speisentragen” containers. A single kitchen could feed between 125 and 225 men, supported by dedicated baking and butchering units within each division.
- Includes detailed parts for the Hf.13 field kitchen and Hf.11 limber.
- Accurate reproduction of the main pot, coffee maker, and cooking range.
- Food containers and crew seating detail included.
- Perfect for dioramas depicting WWII German encampments or supply areas.
The German Field Kitchen brings a touch of realism and atmosphere to any WWII scene, illustrating the vital role of logistics and morale on the front lines.
