History:
Launched in 1981, the Honda City broke conventions with its tall, compact design tailored for urban driving. In 1982, the Honda City Turbo brought a sportier dimension, developed with input from Honda’s motorsport division. Powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine delivering 100hp, the Turbo combined small-car agility with spirited performance. Its distinctive design elements – including widened arches, aggressive bumpers, and a pronounced bonnet bulge – captured the era’s love for hot hatches. The inclusion of the folding “Motocompo” scooter in the real car’s boot was a unique selling point, aimed at city commuters. Today, the Honda City Turbo is celebrated as a quirky, innovative classic from the golden age of Japanese automotive engineering.
