Tamiya 1/48 IJN Komatsu G40 Bulldozer
IJN Komatsu G40 Bulldozer (1/48) 32565
The Komatsu G40 Bulldozer was Japan’s first domestically produced bulldozer, developed during WWII to assist in airfield construction for the Imperial Japanese Navy. Built in limited numbers, only 148 units were manufactured and deployed to both northern and southern fronts. Due to logistical challenges, many never reached their intended destinations. Today, only one surviving example exists, preserved at the Komatsu Techo Center in Shizuka, Japan, and recognised as a Mechanical Engineering Heritage item by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers in 2007.
