History:
The M24 Chaffee was designed to correct the deficiencies of the earlier Stuart light tanks, offering improved firepower and crew protection. It entered service in late 1944 and saw combat in Europe during the final months of WWII. Its lightweight design, coupled with a powerful 75mm gun and good speed, made it a flexible support unit in both reconnaissance and frontline roles. The Chaffee continued its service during the Korean War and remained in use in various countries well into the 1980s, proving its enduring value and adaptability across decades of armoured warfare.
