This 1/35 scale kit depicts the U.S. M2A2 Bradley Operation Desert Storm (ODS) Infantry Fighting Vehicle as deployed by the 3rd Armored Infantry Division during the 2003 Iraq War. Based on the M2 IFV introduced in 1980, the ODS variant was developed after the Gulf War to address battlefield lessons learned, incorporating advanced electronics, improved crew survivability, and enhanced target identification systems.
The M2A2 ODS featured upgrades such as a laser range finder, GPS and digital compass, a missile countermeasure system, and Combat Identification Panels (CIP) fitted to prevent friendly fire incidents. In Iraq, these vehicles spearheaded mechanised infantry operations, operating alongside M1A1 Abrams tanks and providing both troop transport and direct fire support.
