History
The M4A3E8, or “Easy Eight”, was one of the most refined Sherman variants, featuring a powerful 76mm gun and improved suspension. Although it saw late WWII action, the Easy Eight returned to battle during the Korean War. As the United States re-engaged in combat operations on the Korean Peninsula, these tanks were pressed back into service due to their availability and reliability. Facing Soviet-supplied T-34/85s, the Easy Eight proved to be a competent adversary, its firepower and mobility offering solid performance in mountainous Korean terrain. Often reassigned to infantry support, it remained in use into the mid-1950s, marking its importance beyond WWII.
