M51 Israeli Tank (1/35) 35323
The M51, also known as the Super Sherman, was Israel’s heavily upgraded variant of the American M4A1 Sherman tank. In the 1960s, the Israeli Ordnance Corps rearmed these vehicles with a formidable French 105mm CN-105-F1 gun, requiring the addition of a muzzle brake and turret counterweight to manage the added recoil and balance. Enhancements such as a more powerful 460hp diesel engine and wider T80 tracks supported by HVSS gave the M51 improved handling and cross-country mobility.
The M51 made its combat debut during the Six-Day War in 1967, where it successfully engaged Soviet-made T-54/55 and JS-3 tanks using HEAT ammunition. Despite being based on a WWII-era chassis, its upgrades enabled it to remain effective on the battlefield into the early 1980s.
