Tamiya 1/48 Matilda MkIII/IV British Infantry Tank
Matilda MkIII/IV British Infantry Tank (1/48) 32572
The Matilda MkIII/IV was one of the most iconic British infantry tanks of WWII, famed for its heavy armor and battlefield resilience. Designed to advance with infantry and provide close support, the Matilda excelled in the harsh North African desert, where it outclassed early Italian armor. German forces came to respect the Matilda, dubbing it the “Queen of the Desert.” Its thick armor proved impervious to most Axis anti-tank weapons of the time, forcing German units to deploy their formidable 88mm anti-aircraft guns in a ground role to neutralise the threat.
