History:
The Mikoyan MiG-29, NATO reporting name ‘Fulcrum’, was developed by the Soviet Union as a high-performance air superiority fighter. First flown in 1977 and entering service in the early 1980s, the MiG-29 was notable for its agility and dogfighting capabilities, enhanced by its thrust-vectoring nozzles and advanced radar systems. It was widely exported and has seen service in numerous conflicts from the Gulf War to more recent operations in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Continual upgrades have kept the aircraft relevant in the modern era.
