Tamiya 1/48 Möbelwagen Flak 43
Möbelwagen Flak 43 (1/48) 32573
The Möbelwagen Flak 43 was Germany’s first mass-produced self-propelled anti-aircraft gun based on the Panzer IV chassis. Developed in response to the loss of German air superiority in the latter stages of WWII, it provided mobile anti-aircraft defence for armored formations. Early prototypes carried quadruple 2cm Flak guns, but production models were upgraded to a single 3.7cm Flak 43, capable of firing 250 rounds per minute. This larger gun offered greater range and hitting power against Allied aircraft.

Historically, the Möbelwagen entered production in February 1944, with around 240 units completed by March 1945. Its four folding armored plates could be lowered for anti-aircraft engagement or removed entirely for horizontal ground fire. Most were deployed on the Western Front, where they attempted to shield German forces from the relentless attacks of Allied fighter-bombers during the final year of the war.
