Tamiya German Panther G (1/48)
The Panther Ausf.G was one of the final and most refined versions of the Panther tank, widely regarded as one of the most effective German armoured fighting vehicles of WWII. Developed as a direct response to the Soviet T-34, the Panther combined exceptional firepower, strong armour protection, and good mobility. Powered by a 700hp Maybach V12 engine, it could reach speeds of up to 46km/h and boasted a powerful 75mm KwK 42 L/70 gun capable of destroying most Allied tanks at long range.
The Ausf.G introduced several changes over earlier models, including redesigned hull sides for simplified production, optional heater units for winter operations, and a choice of mantlet designs to eliminate the ‘shot trap’ vulnerability beneath the gun. It served extensively on both the Eastern and Western Fronts, from the battles in Normandy and the Ardennes to the last desperate defences in Germany during 1945.
