Tamiya Plastic Model Kit
Pz.IV Ausf.J (Sd.Kfz.161/2) (1/35) 35181
This 1/35 scale Tamiya model kit recreates the Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf.J, the final production version of Germany’s most important and widely used tank of WWII. The Panzer IV served as the backbone of the Panzer divisions, earning the nickname “Workhorse” for its versatility and reliability.
- Highly detailed late-production Ausf.J design.
- Includes realistic turret, hull, and running gear details.
- Features optional Schürzen side skirts or late-war wire mesh panels.
- Accurately replicates long-barrel 7.5cm KwK40 L/48 main gun.
- Perfect for diorama settings depicting late-war European theatres.
The Ausf.J incorporated late-war modifications to simplify production and conserve raw materials. The auxiliary turret-traverse engine was removed and replaced with an extra fuel tank, increasing range from 210km to 320km at the expense of powered traverse. Armour skirts first introduced on the Ausf.G were sometimes replaced by wire mesh or omitted entirely. Serving mainly in a defensive role by 1944, the Ausf.J saw extensive action on both Eastern and Western fronts during the final year of the war.
