Tamiya Plastic Model Kit
Pz.Kpfw IV Ausf G Early (1/35) 35378
This 1/35 scale plastic model kit replicates the early production variant of the Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf.G, a critical step in the evolution of this long-serving German tank. Upgrades over its predecessor, the Ausf.F, included the long-barrelled 7.5cm KwK 40 L/43 gun to counter Soviet armour threats, along with improved mantlet and frontal protection. Ausf.G tanks served in all major theatres from 1942 onwards, including North Africa and the Eastern Front, and were often seen with field-modified additions such as extra armour and storage gear.

History
The Panzer IV Ausf.G was introduced in 1942 as a direct response to the growing threat of Soviet T-34 and KV-1 tanks. Its longer barrel allowed for better armour penetration at range, giving the Wehrmacht much-needed firepower during critical stages of the war. Over 1,900 units were produced before mid-1943, with many receiving additional armour and upgrades during field service. From the deserts of North Africa to the vast plains of the Eastern Front, the Ausf.G played a crucial role in German armoured operations throughout WWII.
