Tamiya Sturmgeschutz III Early Prod (1/48)
This 1/48 scale Tamiya kit recreates the Sturmgeschutz III Ausf.G Early Production, featuring the welded type mantlet and offering a choice of a 75mm L/48 gun or a 105mm howitzer. Based on the proven Panzer III chassis, the StuG III eliminated the revolving turret for a fixed superstructure, resulting in a low profile ideal for ambush and support roles. Initially designed for close infantry fire support, it quickly evolved into a formidable tank destroyer as German forces faced heavily armoured Soviet KV-1 and T-34 tanks.
