Tamiya Plastic Model Kit
Tirpitz With Stand (1/350) 78015
The Tirpitz, sister ship to the famous Bismarck, was the largest battleship ever built by Germany. Commissioned in 1941, she was stationed mainly in Norwegian waters to threaten Allied convoys bound for the Soviet Union. Despite seeing limited direct combat, the Tirpitz tied down substantial Allied naval resources for much of the war. She was heavily armed with eight 38cm guns and extensive anti-aircraft weaponry, and her presence in the North Atlantic posed a constant strategic threat. In November 1944, British RAF bombers finally sank her in Tromsø fjord.
