History:
Released in 1936, the Toyota Model AA was the company’s first production passenger car, developed by Toyoda Automatic Loom Works before the formation of Toyota Motor Corporation. Influenced by the styling of the Chrysler Airflow, the Model AA featured streamlined bodywork and was powered by a 3.4-litre inline-six engine producing 62 horsepower. Although production was limited to around 1,404 units before ending in 1943, the Model AA played a pivotal role in establishing Japan’s automotive industry. Today, it is regarded as a cultural and historical milestone, symbolising the origins of one of the world’s largest and most influential car manufacturers.
