Tamiya Military Model Kit
Tamiya US Army Infantry GI Set (1/48)
The US Army infantry, famously known as GIs, were the backbone of American ground forces during World War II. From the beaches of Normandy to the dense forests of the Ardennes, and across the Pacific islands, these soldiers fought in every major theatre of the conflict. Equipped with the reliable M1 Garand rifle, Thompson submachine gun, Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR), and a range of support weapons such as the M1919 machine gun and the M1 Bazooka, they were trained for both offensive and defensive operations. Standard issue uniforms included the M1941 or M1943 field jacket, steel M1 helmet, and combat webbing for ammunition, grenades, and other essential gear. Tank crews provided crucial firepower support, working in close coordination with infantry to capture and hold objectives.
This 1/48 scale Tamiya set captures the spirit and detail of the US infantry in action. It includes 13 infantry figures in dynamic charging, firing, and supporting poses, as well as 2 tank crewmen suitable for use with US armoured fighting vehicles. Each figure is precisely moulded, featuring realistic clothing folds, equipment, and weapon details. The separate sprue of weapons and accessories adds flexibility for customisation in dioramas or alongside AFVs.
