History
In 1940, the French Army was one of the largest in Europe, tasked with defending against the German invasion. French infantry units were equipped with distinctive gear, including the MAS-36 rifle, MLE 24/29 light machine gun, and Adrian-style helmets. Despite brave resistance, France fell to German forces after the rapid Blitzkrieg campaign. These soldiers fought in diverse environments, from the fortified Maginot Line to open countryside, and their uniforms and weapons have since become iconic representations of the early war period. This set captures the look and feel of those troops, making it an excellent addition for collectors and diorama builders.
