History
The M4A3E8 Sherman, commonly known as the ‘Easy Eight’, was a late-war upgrade to the standard M4 Sherman series. It introduced a new suspension system (HVSS) and carried a more powerful 76mm high-velocity gun, improving both ride quality and combat effectiveness. These upgrades addressed many of the earlier Sherman’s limitations, making the M4A3E8 a much more formidable opponent on the battlefield.
Widely used during the final phases of World War II, particularly in Europe and the Pacific, the Easy Eight became one of the most recognisable and respected American tanks. It remained in service into the Korean War and beyond, cementing its place in military history. Trumpeter’s 1/72 kit provides an accessible and accurate representation of this iconic armoured vehicle.
