History
USS The Sullivans (DD-537) was a Fletcher-class destroyer commissioned in 1943 during the height of the Second World War. She was named to honour the memory of the five Sullivan brothers, who perished together when the USS Juneau was sunk in 1942. Their story became one of the most poignant symbols of sacrifice and brotherhood in the US Navy’s history.
The Sullivans served with distinction in the Pacific Theatre, participating in major naval operations including the Battle of Leyte Gulf and supporting carrier strikes on Japan. She continued to serve post-war and was later preserved as a museum ship in Buffalo, New York. This model honours the ship’s legacy and offers a detailed representation of an iconic wartime destroyer.
