History:
The Athenian Hoplite was the backbone of classical Greek warfare. Armed with a long spear, short sword, and large round shield (aspis), and protected by a bronze helmet and body armour, these warriors formed the core of Athens’ phalanx formations. From the battles of Marathon and Plataea to the bitter civil strife of the Peloponnesian War, Athenian Hoplites played a central role in shaping the ancient world. Trained as citizen-soldiers, they fought with pride, discipline, and unity, embodying the ideals of the polis. This Victrix set captures the elegance and might of these historical warriors, offering builders an array of options to reflect their diversity and tactical precision.
