Victrix Plastic Model Figures
Austrian Napoleonic Landwehr 1808–1815 (28mm) VX0015
This 28mm hard plastic set from Victrix represents Austrian Landwehr infantry from 1808 to 1815. Raised to bolster the Habsburg forces during the height of the Napoleonic Wars, Landwehr units were drawn from local militias and played an essential role in defending the empire. This set includes 56 finely detailed figures, ideal for fielding massed infantry blocks with the character and versatility to support your Austrian army on the tabletop.
The box contains 2 officers, 2 standard bearers, 2 drummers, 2 mounted colonels, and 48 infantry figures. The officers and mounted colonels come with multiple arm options, allowing for varied and personalised command models. Of the 48 infantry, 32 are in march attack pose, while the remaining 16 can be assembled in alternate poses—firing, loading, advancing at porte, advancing at charge—or even as sergeant figures.
Perfect for building battalions for use in the 1809 campaign and the later War of the Sixth Coalition, these figures offer historical flexibility and visual appeal. They’re suitable for engagements against French, Bavarian, Italian, or Saxon forces across Central Europe.

History:
The Landwehr were local militia regiments raised throughout the Austrian Empire during the Napoleonic Wars, particularly from 1808 onwards. Initially considered a second-line force, their training and equipment improved as the wars progressed, and they were increasingly deployed in front-line roles. Clad in simpler uniforms and often equipped with older weapons, the Landwehr still played a critical role in Austria’s defensive strategy, particularly during the 1809 campaign and the 1813–1814 push against Napoleon’s forces. Their presence bolstered regular units and allowed Austria to field larger armies during crucial phases of the conflict. This Victrix set captures the determined look and massed formation of these citizen-soldiers.
