History:
Scottish Highland regiments were a proud and integral part of the British Army during the Napoleonic Wars. Flank companies from these units were often deployed as shock troops—grenadiers leading charges and light infantry conducting skirmishes and reconnaissance. Highlanders brought both fearsome reputation and striking uniforms to the battlefield, their feathered bonnets and kilts making them instantly recognisable. From the Peninsular War through to Waterloo, Highland regiments such as the 42nd (Black Watch) and 92nd Gordon Highlanders played pivotal roles in Britain’s military successes. Their bravery and distinct appearance have earned them lasting fame in military history and miniature collections alike.
