History:
The Early Imperial Roman army placed tremendous importance on leadership. Generals and senior officers were often battle-hardened veterans, steeped in Roman military doctrine and aristocratic lineage. They commanded respect both on and off the battlefield, leading from horseback and delivering strategic orders. In battle, their presence could rally faltering lines or drive forward an aggressive charge. This period, marked by campaigns in Britain, Dacia, and across the Rhine, saw these commanders shape the empire’s expansion. The grandeur of their equipment—armour, weapons, and ornate mounts—reflected both their authority and the empire’s might. Figures in this set bring that commanding presence to life in miniature form.
