History:
Between 1804 and 1807, Napoleon’s Grande Armée was engaged in some of its most impressive military campaigns. Following his coronation as Emperor, Napoleon reorganised the French Army into corps, led by experienced marshals. French line infantry in this era wore bicornes and blue coats with white lapels, standing in deep columns or firing lines. They played pivotal roles in the crushing victories at Ulm, Austerlitz, and Jena–Auerstedt, which cemented France’s dominance in continental Europe. This set captures the look and feel of that confident, disciplined army—fresh from revolution, full of ambition, and undefeated on the battlefield.
