History:
The Germanic tribes of northern Europe were among Rome’s most enduring adversaries. From the Cimbrian migrations to the devastating ambush in the Teutoburg Forest in 9AD, these warriors defied Roman expansion for centuries. Unlike the organised formations of Roman legions, Germanic warriors fought with ferocity in loose formations, favouring ambushes and close-quarters combat. Clad in a mixture of looted gear and tribal attire, they wielded spears, clubs, and axes with brutal efficiency. Their society was built on honour, kinship, and warrior culture, and they were renowned for their aggressive charges and unyielding resistance. This set captures the spirit and individuality of those warriors who stood as the last barrier to Roman domination in the north.
