Victrix 28mm Historical Miniatures
28mm Late Roman Cataphracts VXDA015
Strike fear into your opponents with these formidable 28mm Late Roman Cataphracts from Victrix. Representing the elite armoured cavalry of the Late Roman Empire, this set includes 16 riders clad in scale, lamellar and mail armour, mounted on fully barded horses with detailed head protection and sculpted scale barding.
Cataphracts were a response to the rising power of heavily armoured enemies like the Sassanid Persians. Their role in Roman strategy grew under Emperor Constantius II in the 4th century, evolving into the hammer of the late imperial cavalry arm. Designed for shock impact, they advanced at the trot rather than the charge, wielding long kontos lances with brutal precision before switching to swords or axes in close combat.
This set captures the intimidating presence and visual splendour of these warriors. The horses come in dynamic trotting poses, with separate tails and eight different armoured head options to vary your regiment. Riders feature diverse armour styles and can be built with either upright or levelled kontos for maximum visual impact.

- 13 x Rider head options with helmets and scale detail
