Victrix Plastic Model Figures
Late Saxons / Anglo Danes (28mm) VXDA002
This exceptional 28mm hard plastic set from Victrix depicts the fierce warriors of the Late Saxon and Anglo-Danish armies—ideal for recreating the turbulent period leading up to the Norman Conquest. With 60 highly detailed figures and an expansive array of parts, this set offers superb flexibility for assembling both elite and levy troops in authentic battle-ready poses.
The armoured figures are ideal for representing Thegns or select Fyrd, while the unarmoured warriors stand as the backbone of the common Fyrd—equipped with stout shields, spears, and a variety of helmets. For added flavour, the set includes two monks and robed figures to depict spiritual or narrative elements in your force. The command frame includes parts to build commanders, standard bearers, and imposing Anglo-Danish Huscarls with their feared double-handed Dane axes.

History:
The Late Saxons and Anglo Danes were the dominant forces in England prior to the Norman invasion of 1066. Their armies were built around a core of well-equipped Thegns and Huscarls, supported by the larger Fyrd—levied freemen called upon in times of conflict. Armed with spears, swords, and the iconic Dane axe, these warriors stood resolute against repeated Viking incursions and internal dynastic struggles. Religious figures, often present in such forces, served both spiritual and practical roles within the army. This set allows you to recreate the battles of Stamford Bridge, Fulford, or Hastings with historically inspired detail and modular versatility.
