History:
The Hypaspists were elite infantry who served alongside the Macedonian phalanx during the campaigns of Philip II and Alexander the Great. Selected for their strength, skill, and endurance, they were typically positioned between the heavy phalangites and the Companion Cavalry. Their role was to guard the flanks, storm fortifications, and execute rapid manoeuvres that the slower phalanx could not. With lighter equipment and greater flexibility, Hypaspists became a versatile strike force in battles across Greece, Persia, and India. They later evolved into the Argyraspides—Silver Shields—under the Successor kingdoms. This Victrix set brings these legendary warriors to life with detailed and historically grounded sculpts.
