Victrix Plastic Model Figures
Numidian Cavalry (28mm) VXA022
This 28mm hard plastic set from Victrix represents Numidian light cavalry—renowned horsemen of North Africa who served as some of antiquity’s most agile and skilled mounted troops. Hailing from the regions of modern-day Tunisia and Morocco, the Numidians provided vital cavalry support to Carthaginian armies, particularly during the Punic Wars against Rome.
The box includes 12 highly detailed miniatures, offering superb flexibility through multiple head, body, and horse options. Armed primarily with javelins and spears, these fast-moving riders are ideal for skirmishing, flanking, and disrupting enemy formations. Also included are banner stands, swords, trumpets, and shields, allowing for the creation of command elements and battlefield variety.
This versatile set can be fielded as part of a full Carthaginian or Spanish army, pairing particularly well with other Victrix cavalry and infantry kits. Supported by Little Big Men Studios shield transfers and banners, these figures provide both historical accuracy and hobby flexibility.

History:
The Numidians were famed for their swift and elusive cavalry tactics. Lightly equipped and riding without saddles or bridles, these horsemen relied on mobility and precision rather than brute strength. Numidian cavalry proved decisive in many battles, both in service to Carthage and later as allies of Rome. During the Second Punic War, Hannibal’s Numidian cavalry played a critical role in several victories, including the ambushes and flanking manoeuvres that became his hallmark. Their ability to harass and outmanoeuvre heavier opponents earned them a reputation as some of the finest light cavalry of the ancient world. This set captures the agility, flair, and effectiveness that made them indispensable on the battlefield.
