Victrix Plastic Miniatures
12mm Panther Ausf G VG12001
This set from Victrix includes six superbly detailed 12mm (1:144 scale) Panther Ausf G tanks, complete with a decal sheet featuring German crosses and red tactical numbers. Each miniature is crisply moulded to capture the aggressive lines and commanding presence of one of World War II’s most formidable armoured vehicles.
The Panther Ausf G was the pinnacle of German tank design during the Second World War. Drawing heavily from the Soviet T-34 in both form and function, it combined sloped armour with excellent mobility and a high-velocity 7.5cm KwK 42 L/70 main gun. Capable of engaging enemy armour at long range with lethal precision, the Panther easily outclassed British and American tanks upon its debut in 1944.
Designed with battlefield effectiveness in mind, the Panther featured thick frontal armour, a five-man crew, and three 7.92mm machine guns for close-range defence. This set represents the Ausf G variant, which improved upon earlier models with revised hull design, simplified construction, and increased durability in the field.

History:
Developed as a direct response to the Soviet T-34, the Panther entered service in 1943 and quickly established itself as Germany’s most balanced and effective medium tank. By the time of the Normandy campaign in 1944, the Panther Ausf G was in widespread use, providing a lethal combination of firepower, protection, and mobility. Its sloped armour design offered superior defensive capabilities, while its long-barrelled 7.5cm gun could penetrate Allied tanks at ranges where return fire was often ineffective. Although plagued by mechanical issues early on, the Panther evolved into a reliable mainstay of German armoured forces. The Ausf G variant, in particular, featured refinements that made it more durable and easier to produce, ensuring its continued presence on the battlefield until the final days of the war.
