Victrix Plastic Miniatures
12mm Panzer IV H VG12004
This Victrix set includes six superbly detailed 12mm (1:144 scale) Panzer IV Ausf H tanks, complete with a decal sheet featuring German crosses and black/white tactical numbers. As the most widely produced German tank of World War II, the Panzer IV was a battlefield mainstay from the invasion of Poland in 1939 through to the final defence of Berlin in 1945.
The Ausf H variant, introduced in 1943, incorporated significant upgrades over previous models, most notably the addition of spaced skirt armour on the hull and turret. Designed to counter the growing threat from Allied anti-tank weapons such as the PIAT and bazooka, this extra armour provided increased protection against shaped charges.
Armed with the powerful 7.5cm KwK 40 L/48 gun and supported by coaxial and bow-mounted 7.92mm machine guns, the Panzer IV H was a formidable opponent. Though increasingly outmatched by newer Allied tanks, it remained effective thanks to its solid firepower, versatile chassis, and widespread availability.

History:
The Panzer IV was the backbone of Germany’s armoured forces during the Second World War. Initially designed as an infantry support tank, it was steadily upgraded throughout the conflict to meet evolving battlefield challenges. The Ausf H variant introduced in 1943 featured 80mm frontal armour and spaced side skirts to protect against Allied infantry anti-tank weapons. Despite being technically surpassed by late-war tanks like the Panther and Tiger, the Panzer IV remained the most commonly fielded tank in German service due to its balance of protection, mobility, and ease of production. It served across every front, from North Africa to Normandy and the Eastern Front, and its reliability made it a trusted tool for both veteran and new crews alike.
