Victrix Plastic Miniatures
12mm StuG III VG12003
This Victrix set includes six superbly detailed 12mm (1:144 scale) StuG III assault guns, complete with a decal sheet featuring German crosses and yellow tactical numbers. Known for its low silhouette and battlefield versatility, the StuG III was one of Germany’s most effective and widely used armoured vehicles of World War II.
Initially developed as an infantry support weapon, the StuG III evolved into a formidable tank destroyer. Armed with either a 7.5cm StuK L/48 or the short-barrelled 10.5cm StuH 42 L/28 howitzer, it offered flexibility for engaging enemy armour or fortified positions. Its low profile made it difficult to detect and an ideal vehicle for ambush tactics, particularly on the Eastern Front.
With thick frontal armour and additional skirt plates for side protection, the StuG III was a well-balanced vehicle in terms of protection, firepower, and cost. It became especially vital during Germany’s defensive operations from 1943 onward, where it served in large numbers and earned a reputation for reliability and effectiveness.

History:
The Sturmgeschütz III (StuG III) began its life as an infantry support weapon based on the Panzer III chassis. Its design philosophy centred on providing direct-fire support for advancing infantry, but as the war progressed, it was increasingly tasked with anti-tank duties. With over 10,000 units produced, the StuG III became the most manufactured German armoured fighting vehicle of the war. Its simple design and low production cost made it a favourite among German armoured units. Whether supporting infantry in urban combat or lying in wait to ambush advancing tanks, the StuG III proved adaptable, dependable, and deadly across every front where Germany fought.
