History:
The Barons’ War (1215–1217) was one of the defining conflicts of medieval England, as rebellious barons clashed with King John and his successor Henry III. Sparked by disputes over royal authority and taxation, it culminated in events such as the sealing of Magna Carta and the struggles for control of key castles and cities. The conflict saw alliances forged and broken, mercenaries employed, and ordinary levies drawn into the struggle for power. Wargames Atlantic’s Barons War 2nd Edition captures this turbulent era, providing a versatile skirmish system that allows players to explore both historical battles and “what if” scenarios of medieval warfare.
