History:
The Dornier Do 335 A-12 Pfeil was the two-seat trainer version of Germany’s revolutionary push-pull twin-engine fighter. As part of the Do 335 development programme, the A-12 retained the airframe and performance of the A-0 single-seater but featured a tandem dual-cockpit configuration for instructional purposes.
Developed late in the war, the A-12 allowed instructor and trainee to share a common training platform while still preserving the unique flight characteristics of the Pfeil. Despite limited production, it demonstrated Dornier’s commitment to fielding a fully functional and pilot-ready aircraft.
This rare Luftwaffe aircraft never saw combat use but played a vital role in pilot transition and evaluation. Its sleek design, impressive speed, and technical novelty made the Pfeil family one of the most unique fighter series of the Second World War.
Zoukei-Mura’s SWS12 kit offers a detailed and technically sophisticated replica of this historic aircraft, faithfully capturing its dual-seat layout and complex internal systems. It stands as a tribute to innovative aeronautical engineering and is an ideal centrepiece for any collection of WWII Luftwaffe aircraft.
