History:
The Focke Wulf Fw 190 A-4 was a refinement of Kurt Tank’s renowned fighter design, introduced during the height of World War II. Entering service in 1942, the A-4 was equipped with a powerful BMW 801D-2 radial engine, offering improved high-altitude performance and a redesigned antenna system. Pilots quickly praised the Fw 190 for its firepower, rugged construction, and excellent manoeuvrability, particularly at low and medium altitudes.
The Fw 190 A-4 served with distinction in the Luftwaffe’s fighter units, including Jagdgeschwader 2 (JG2) and Jagdgeschwader 54 (JG54). It boasted heavier armament than the Bf 109 and was often preferred for ground attack and bomber interception roles. Luftwaffe aces such as Siegfried Schnell achieved numerous victories flying the A-4, contributing to its fearsome reputation among Allied pilots.
This Zoukei-Mura kit commemorates the legacy of the Fw 190 with exceptional accuracy and detail. Including a special edition figure of Schnell and developed in collaboration with D-Day Miniature Studio, it pays tribute to one of the most formidable aircraft of the war and the men who flew it.
