History:
The Henschel Hs 129 was the Luftwaffe’s dedicated ground-attack aircraft, designed to take on armoured vehicles and fortified ground targets. Initially underpowered and plagued by development issues, the Hs 129 found its niche in close air support on the Eastern Front. The B-3 variant, featured in this kit, was its most formidable incarnation—armed with the massive 75mm Bordkanone BK 7,5 cannon. This weapon was repurposed from the PaK 40 anti-tank gun, turning the Hs 129 into one of the most heavily armed aircraft of WWII.
Used sparingly due to limited numbers and the complexity of operation, the B-3 was capable of destroying Soviet T-34s and KV tanks with a single shot. It featured thick armour around the cockpit and engines to protect the crew from ground fire, though at the expense of visibility and handling.
Zoukei-Mura’s SWS19 kit delivers an extraordinary level of detail, capturing the bulk, complexity, and firepower of this rare flying tank destroyer. With full interior structures, armament detail, and engine mechanics, the kit offers modellers an in-depth build experience and a unique centrepiece for any WWII aircraft collection.
