Zoukei-Mura 1/32 Horten Ho 229B Night Fighter (SWS24)
This premium 1/32 scale kit from Zoukei-Mura recreates the advanced two-seat variant of the Horten Ho 229B—an experimental German flying wing night fighter conceived in the final stages of World War II. Featuring full internal detail and a clear exterior option, the model offers modellers a comprehensive view of this aircraft’s futuristic design and structure.
The Ho 229B was a proposed night fighter version of the revolutionary Ho 229 flying wing, designed by the Horten brothers under the mentorship of Dr. Lippisch. Equipped with a tandem cockpit layout, the B variant was intended to carry a radar operator seated behind the pilot, with FuG 220 Liechtenstein radar mounted on the nose for night-time enemy detection. Although never deployed operationally, the Ho 229B was envisioned as a potent high-speed night interceptor.
This SWS kit allows the builder to recreate either a single-seat or two-seat version of the Ho 229B. The included clear fuselage parts make it possible to display the internal components, including the fully detailed cockpit, radar equipment, weaponry, and jet engine systems. With 369 parts and precision-moulded components, this kit is designed for advanced modellers seeking accuracy, complexity, and historical intrigue.

History:
The Horten Ho 229 was one of Nazi Germany’s most ambitious aviation projects—a flying wing powered by jet engines, developed for stealth, speed, and striking power. Designed by the Horten brothers and supported by the Luftwaffe, it featured a radically advanced aerodynamic layout. The Ho 229B variant, as represented in this kit, was planned as a two-seat night fighter equipped with radar and six cannons (including Mk 103 and Mk 108 30mm guns) for intercepting Allied bombers. The FuG 220 radar system, also used on the He 219, gave it night-fighting capability. Although the war ended before the B variant saw service, its legacy lives on as one of the most visionary designs of the era. This model brings that vision to life with extraordinary fidelity and depth.
