History:
The T-26 was the Soviet Union’s first mass-produced infantry support tank, designed primarily in the early 1930s. It featured dual rotating turrets typically armed with DT machine guns, though some variants carried a 37mm Gochkis gun. Despite its light armour, the T-26 proved effective in early conflicts and was exported to Republican forces in the Spanish Civil War. With over 11,000 units produced, it became a mainstay of the Soviet armoured force before more advanced designs took precedence. Captured units also saw use by Finland, Germany, Romania, and Hungary. Its role in Soviet military development and early WWII campaigns makes it a key subject for historical model builders.
